Alex Boyè Becomes United States Citizen
On February 22, 2012, Alex Boyè was sworn in as a citizen of the United States of America. It was an emotional time for Brother Boyè, is a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sometimes called the “Mormon Church” by the media. Renowned as a solo singer, Brother Boyè is a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Invited by the judge to sing the National Anthem, Boyè explained that although he had sung it over 100 times since moving to the U.S., this time was different.
Witness Music Choir: Lamb of God
Witness Music is a new organization that is committed to “organizing live performances of sacred musical works that testify of the divinity of Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God and his role as Savior and Redeemer of all the world.” Composed largely of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons), Witness Music is planning an Easter performance of “Lamb of God,” by Rob Gardner.
Cabbages and Kings to Perform July 8 & 9
Looking for some post July 4th American rock 'n roll? Cabbages and Kings, covering rock and roll from the 60s to the present, are ready to jam. These local performers tackle songs like Tom Sawyer by Rush, Smooth with Santana, and Ants Marching by Dave Mathews band just to name a few. In their "Just a Second" Tour, coming right up July 8th and 9th, they'll be inviting all of Holladay and the rest of us to rock with them.
